Home Learning.
Home Reading.
As the old saying goes, “practice makes perfect”.
Our Home Reading program insists that students read at home at least 4 times per week.
Research has shown that students who read often and access a wide variety of texts display stronger comprehension skills and possess an extensive vocabulary.
Home Learning Expos.
Our Year 3 to Year 6 students participate in a Home Learning Expo once per term. Home Learning is an opportunity for these students to exercise agency over their learning. Projects presented at the Expo are based on the individual student’s interests.
The topic and style of presentation is completely up to the student. We have had some wonderful presentations in the past, including a miniature pot belly stove welded by a Year 6 student, a choreographed dance piece performed by the student, stop motion videos and upcycled clothing. This style of learning broadens the horizons of our students, teaching them essential organisational and presentation skills.
