We offer an educational experience that provides and develops skills, talents and personal qualities. Located between Bairnsdale and Sale on the Princes Highway in Gippsland, Stratford Primary was established in 1860 and attracts families from a range of backgrounds and occupations.

We have an enrolment of 85 students across 4 multi-aged classrooms. Students participate in a kitchen-garden program, specialist areas of P.E., The Arts (Visual Art and Music), Indonesian, Wellbeing, Geography, History, Science and Citizenship. Information and Communication Technologies are taught across the curriculum. Students also have the opportunity to participate in many curriculum enhancement activities such as camps, incursions and excursions.

The school reflects the designs of schools throughout time with modern buildings nestled in with structures from the past, surrounded by plenty of places to play and relax.

Our aim is to work with families so that our students leave our school with empathy, compassion, initiative, perseverance, and a strong sense of self worth. We want them to be successful self-managers with a sense of justice and a willingness to give back to their community. We want them to have a sense of pride knowing that they have worked hard to achieve the highest personal results they can. We want them to leave with memories of good times, good friends, and a readiness to take on the world.

Stratford Primary School is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our care and decision-making. Stratford Primary School has zero tolerance for child abuse.

Our School Values

Our school values of Aim High, Show Respect, Be Curious & Be Honourable (ARCH) are woven through all that we do and are supported by our Wellbeing Program.

Our dedicated teachers and support staff develop individual learning plans and draw upon a wide range of teaching and learning programs and pedagogies to meet the differentiated needs of the students in our care. An active School Council works hard to ensure we are able to support our students and families through collaboration, fundraising and facilities and grounds management.

We work closely with schools in the Wellington Network to improve student outcomes. We have common focus areas, including best practice in delivering Literacy and Numeracy. Our staff members work together to ensure our students are supported and challenged and that they have a voice in the development of the school.
