A Cold but Sunny Start
This week all classes got into the garden and enjoyed the warmth of the autumn sunshine. The F1 class had their turn to explore worms on a plate, while the 1/2 class went on a gardening scavenger hunt. The hunt is a great way for the students to take a close look at exactly what is in our garden, and to identify tools, plants and bugs.
The students from 3 to 6 spent their sessions working to weed, mulch and finish our autumn planting. There was some fixing to do, some snow pea supports to make and… even time to practise skipping with one very long, strong bull grass weed.
The carrot patch has been turned over after it produced a very weird looking bunch. The carrots have been cleaned, cooked, mashed and frozen, ready to be used in the kitchen next week.
